The charming Kingsway Movie Theatre is back open for showings and is keeping everyone safe as they catch a flick on the big screen. This theatre is a piece of history on the Kingsway, having opened in 1939. When you walk through the doors at 3030 Bloor Street West, you will instantly feel transported back in time for a vintage movie viewing experience.

Whether you want to catch a movie at 2:15pm on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, or an evening show on the weekends, you will get to see something that you typically would not see. On Friday’s at 8:15pm, you can catch an old school horror movie.

You can get snacks and food, as well as alcoholic drinks inside the theatre. From hamburgers, hot dogs, and nachos to paninis and bagels, come hungry! There’s even ice cream and hot chocolate. If you fancy a cocktail, try the movie-themed cocktails such as the Some Like It Hot Manhattan, or The Big Lebowski white Russian.

The seats are comfy with lots of leg room, and you can enjoy the perks of the good ol’ days where the movie starts on time and you don’t have to watch endless trailers or commercials. The no frills theatre provides just what you need – snacks, agood movie, and an experience of being in a place that loves cinema.

With the COVID-19 pandemic, the theatre is following Ontario bylaws and safety precautions. Mask or face coverings are required, and social distancing as well as disinfecting of areas will also be in effect.

From Monday to Thursday, tickets range from $15, or $12 for seniors and $10 for a child. On weekends, tickets are $16, $13 for seniors, and $10 for a child.
