There’s something to be said about the crunchy texture and the juicy centre you can only get from perfectly cooked fish and chips. Kingsway Fish & Chips is home to just that and more, with melt in your mouth fish and chips, the freshest cut fries, and the creamiest classic coleslaw you’ll ever taste.

Kingsway Fish & Chips is a staple on the Kingsway, having been here since 1958. It’s home for many Kingsway locals, but it’s was also dubbed one of 10 Essential Restaurants Toronto First Timers Needs to Try by BlogTO. A well-deserved title for a classic spot in our neighborhood.

Their star dish is of course, the deep fried halibut cooked fresh on the spot – never precooked or frozen. Everything is made to order. They also have mouth-watering deep-fried cod, haddock, and shrimp and you can get fish tacos if you’re a taco lover. If you want a salad, they have those too! Or, maybe you want to try a clam chowder or lobster bisque. The lobster bisque landed Kingsway Fish & Chips the title of one of the Top 15 Places To Go For Lobster Bisque by Foursquare.

Not into fish at all? They have scrumptious salads, juicy chicken fingers, and BLTs that taste just the way your mom used to make it. There’s cheesy grilled cheese and even fresh off the grill burgers, if you prefer. Pair them with the signature fresh cut fries and creamy coleslaw, and you’re in for a real treat.

If you somehow still have room for dessert, you’re going to want to try their Kingsway Apple Fritter. It comes out piping hot, with cold vanilla ice-cream on top and caramel drizzle – all made in house. They also make homemade butter tarts and apple pecan crisp in house too, and offer classics such as lemon meringue pie, white chocolate lava cake, homemade old fashioned creamy rice pudding, and ice cream.

They have affordable lunch specials, and kids even eat free on Tuesdays, making it the perfect spot for people of all ages. You can pop in during your lunch, or bring some friends or family around for dinner to get a classic diner vibe with friendly service and of course, delicious food.

Aside from feeding our neighborhood with quality fish & chips, Kingsway Fish & Chips is also a pillar of the Kingsway community. They are supporters of local charities, such as the Dorothy Ley Hospice, Women’s Habitat, Haven on the Queensway and Jean Tweed Centre.

It’s no wonder everyone on the Kingsway will tell you to try Kingsway Fish & Chips. From delicious food, to exceptional service, these guys are an important feature of our community!
