Everyone loves having a beer with some good ol’ pub food. The Monk’s Kettle is a Kingsway favourite, and while they are definitely a pub, they aren’t your average pub. Instead, Monk’s is a craft beer emporium and it’s been recognized as one of 15 best beer lists in Toronto by Toronto Life.

The name The Monk’s Kettle comes from the kettles Trappist monks used to brew beer back in the day. Now, the tavern we all know and love is a gastropub with a menu of delicious, unique pub fare with all food handcrafted by Chef Tyler. Whether you want to come and grab a pint, try a flight of beer, or grab a meal with a group of friends or loved ones, you won’t leave hungry or thirsty.

Every day of the week, you can find a daily feature of affordable and mouth-watering food and drink specials. Mondays there’s ½ priced chicken winds and $6 pints, Tuesday you can grab mussels and frites for only 10 bucks. Wednesday they offer their signature burger, which is absolutely to die for, for only $16 and Thursday you can get fancy with ½ priced bottles of wine, charcuteries and cheeses for $18 for 2 people or $29 for a group of 4-6. On Friday, they serve up their Irish Stew. One bite, and it’ll take you right to Ireland (without having to leave the city). And lastly, on Sunday they have $6 pints and a shaolin stir-fry with vegetarian and vegan options.

They boast farm-to-table salads and burgers that are ground in-house daily, meaning all you will find here is fresh. Unlike other pubs, Monk’s really strives to create pub food that stands out and is made with authentic flavours and fresh ingredients. They go easy on the deep-fried items, with the Deep Fried Pickles making an appearance because who doesn’t love a deep fried pickle?

Whether you’re looking to grab some shared plates with friends, or a full meal, Monk’s has got you covered. The environment is fun and bustling, with plenty of space for big groups and cozy booths for those special occasions. The beer list is carefully curated with tons of craft beer to try – just sit at the bar and ask the bartender for a recommendation if you aren’t sure. The wait staff at Monk’s are helpful, informative, and love their beer.

Next time you’re thirsty, pop in and give The Monk’s Kettle a try.
