In addition to in-person direction, online learning offers students a convenient way to access Appletree’s specialized programming. All instruction is one-on-one and sessions are conducted via Zoom with one of their Remediation Specialists. The teachers are dynamic and engaging online, and all programs are designed to match each student’s individual needs and learning style. Covid-19 has had an impact on the way we live, work and educate, and Appletree is dedicated to making it as practical as possible for your child to continue getting the learning support and resources they require.

Appletree Learning Centre specializes in the delivery of Direct Instruction programs. All of our teachers have received training in the methodology of Direct Instruction, and have many years of combined teaching experience working with a wide range of learners, including those with learning differences. They are members of the Ontario College of Teachers and bring their unique experiences and training in the fields of special education, literacy and mathematics instruction to Appletree.

You will be able to speak to the staff VIA a phone consultation and learn how they will work with you and your child, followed by a meet-and-greet at Appletree Learning Centre for your child to meet the friendly teachers and see other students at work! Finally, you will book an intake session. During the intake session, they administer a skills inventory and program placement tests to help identify your child’s academic strengths and areas of need.
