Description
The Kingsway BIA is proud to support the CNIB Deafblind Community Services in the month of June for worldwide Deafblind awareness month. Deafblind Awareness Month is designed to help Canadians develop an understanding of, and a comfort with, the people in their communities who are Deafblind.
To promote awareness, The Kingsway BIA will take part in an initiative called ‘Yarn Bombing’, part of a global campaign to build awareness about people who are Deafblind by engaging in tactile art installations. Yarn bombing is an activity that takes knitted, crocheted or loomed squares of yarn and attaches them to objects or structures in public places as a form of street art.
Local businesses will take over a public structure to yarn bomb throughout the month of June. Keep an eye out for these awesome installations!
