City of Toronto’s Growth Funding Tools workshop – Jan. 11, 2022

The second City of Toronto Growth Funding Tools stakeholder workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 11 which you are encouraged to sign up for and attend!

Please note that this workshop will include the same content as the workshop that was held on December 2, 2021.

As the City of Toronto continues to grow and welcome new residents, we want to ensure that we are leveraging financial tools to support livable, vibrant, and complete communities. We are currently exploring adjustments to these financial tools and are excited to engage with you!

Background on Growth Funding Tools

In 2020, the Ontario government made legislative changes to the Planning Act and Development Charges Act*. Because of these changes, the City of Toronto must update the following growth funding tools: Development Charges, Alternative Parkland Dedication Rate, and Community Benefits Charges (replacing Section 37 Benefits). These funding tools pay for the municipal services and infrastructure that serve our growing population and bring opportunities to create and sustain livable, vibrant, and complete communities.

Upcoming Workshop

As a valued stakeholder, we would like to meet with you to provide a more detailed update on the growth funding tools, hear your questions, and gather your feedback.

Register today for a workshop on Tuesday, January 11, 11am – 1pm.

Your input will help the project team understand what is important to you and the organization you represent when it comes to creating and funding complete communities.
